I am often asked, “What happens if I go to the hospital.”

My patients know and understand that I relinquished my hospital privileges in 2012.

I will do my best to take care of you during business hours. But during off hours, and you are in an emergency, go to an emergency room or call 911. They will assign you a cardiologist if needed. You will not be turned down when in need of care.

Do you need another cardiologist that does go to the hospital? I don’t think that is necessary. Your “other doctor” likely will not be the one you see in the hospital. Likely, you will see an associate, not “your” doctor. At night and on the weekends, your doctor is not likely to be on call.

So when in doubt, head to the ER. They will find you a doctor, and I can converse with that doctor when available.
